It is Saturday morning and it is snowing and has been most of the night . Help - help - help - I have had enough . Since my last post we have had three defined snow storms, horrendous rain storms with fierce horizontal winds , lightning , loss of power and satellite and lots of mud slides and flooded roads with large trees fallen across. Fortunately, I am dry and warm and safe ! However , the severity of this unusual weather condition is very nearby and effecting a lot of people . I have never seen anything like it . As I watch the TV I see picture of roads that I frequently use that are completely flooded and blocked with mud slides . When the snowplow comes through I am not able to get out because the snow berm is to high between the driveway and the road . Nearby highways are closed periodically and it is very difficult for most people to carry on with their responsibilities .
I have only ventured out by car one day when the elements of the weather were calm . So, I have gas in my car (can't go anywhere) , food in the house, and I am warm . And, so importantly my kitty cat , Ivy is nearby to keep me company . The most challenging time through out the past weeks has been when there was no electricity or satellite. It can get pretty cold and lonely , especially when living alone. It is like life has shut down around me !
The main issue with my computer that I have finally resolved was that somehow Chromium was taking over my computer . Disgustingly, Chromium is a program that can NOT be uninstalled ! ! So, that took a few days to sort out . Another annoying issue with my computer is that somehow I have misplaced my connecting cable to download my photos . So, sadly, I can't show you more photos of how high the snow is in my garden .
Well, that is about all for now . I think I will look some more for my camera cable . It has to be here - - - somewhere !

I agree it has been a winter for the record books. We have had lots of rain down my way which has added much needed water to Lake Hodges which we overlook. I am sorry you are having computer problems. A few weeks ago we had a rouge program load itself on our desktop. Thank goodness for a son who is a computer engineer! With him on the phone I was able to get the unwanted program OFF and visit with my boy at the same time. Take care dear friend and give Miss Ivy a pat for me!
ReplyDeleteI really hope things have returned somewhat back to normal for you, Mary! I have relatives who've lived in Redding most of their adult lives and they've never seen anything like all the snow they got, either! They had 2 trees come down due to the weight of the snow on them, and they were fearful of more damage that, thankfully, did not end up happening. I can certainly understand how shut off you'd feel without TV or computer. :/ I'm glad you finally got that nasty program off your computer, though I'm sure it was very frustrating. I'm not very good at troubleshooting computer related issues like I was once was. I do hope you've found your camera cable cord by now! Funny story.... One evening, I was looking for a certain blue glass mixing bowl to use for my dinner preparation. I looked and looked in every cabinet and came up empty handed. I was so frustrated after all that searching! Do you know where it was? Right on my counter holding the cookie dough I'd just mixed up to bake for dessert!! OH. MY. GOSH. Lol!!!
