Can You See What I See

This is the nicest crop of figs that I have ever had on my little tree that I planted a few years ago. I love to hand eat them from the tree. And, this year there are enough for me to do that and still have some to bake or cook with. Not sure what it will be, but I am leaning toward a Fig And Almond Cake.

Or maybe, Chicken and Roasted Figs.

I hope that I will make something before I eat all of them straight from the tree. Hopefully, posting about it may help me to "get to it, girl".

Since I was taking photos this morning of the fig tree, I thought I would look around and see what else in the garden I could photograph for this post. And, I found a few. With the summer weather coming to a close there isn't a lot to share from the garden.

Until next time. Hope you are enjoying each day!

And On The 9th Day

It has now been six months since my precious Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lily left this earth and joined my other furbabies, Pixie and Puff.

Each day continues to be difficult for me especially when I awake in the morning and my automatic mental response to the new day starts with "Where is Lily?" Oh, how I loved that little heart filled with so much love.

When I saw this video on Youtube this morning by happenstance I knew I wanted to share it with you.

It pretty much sums up what my little bundle of love meant to me.

The words are a spin-off from the 1978 speech, "God Made A Farmer", that was given by Paul Harvey. More info at God Made A Farmer.

And,  Oh, how I miss her!!!!!

I Must Take A Break From My Break

It is killing me. I have been working so hard outside as well as inside. I've been pushing myself to the limit and my body is talking loudly to me! I have not had the time or energy to post on my blog. I guess I am trying to "Make hay while the sun shines" as the old saying goes. It won't be long from now and my Burning Bush will start to change colors for its fabulous Autumn display.
Just wanted to check in and say I am still "kicking up my heels" and I will be back before too long. I really am "on a roll" and don't want to lose the momentum.

I hope all is well with everyone. I have been reading blogs when I have a chance and when I am NOT falling asleep in my chair. We will catch up with my activities next time.

Couldn't Resist A Little More - Awe

Family fishing weekend trip to celebrate Daddy's Birthday. And, helping my Great Grandson to catch His First Fish

Did ya know, fishing is for girls, too? Wonderful memories being made.
I just love her little muddy legs and her Mary Jane shoes. Looks like she has a good curiosity for new things to learn about! That is a cute expression with a tad bit of caution, don't you think? And, a proud "big brother".

I have been really thrilled with my new TV, especially with the Olympics showing at this time. It was not planned but the timing has been great. I did not realise how archaic my other TV was until viewing the programs on "This new invention". Ha ha!

Hope your week is going well.

A Little Catch Up

I am so happy for my Granddaughter and her little family. And, look at those precious little Great Grands of mine. They all look so festive in their 4th of July party clothes. I am so thankful that they are a happy little family.  He has a very good job and this past year they moved to a new house/home closer to his work and she finished her schooling with mostly A's (during which time they had two children) for her Bachelor of Arts Degree which she received this past month. At age 24 she is able to be a stay at home mom during these wonderful "growing up years" of the children. She is starting to relax and not feel so guilty about not working.

There will be a wedding in the near future which they are very excited about. They chose to wait for her schooling to be complete for her Bachelor's Degree because her tuition was paid if she was single. Today's world has so many odd twists and decisions!

Brother - Sister Love!  So Sweet!  These little ones are so blessed to have loving and guiding parents.

I have been so busy doing a lot of outdoor work and pushing myself to the limit each day. But it's great to see things looking so much better. Even with the pain at the end of each day. Also, getting caught up on maintenance projects like cleaning the coils under the refrigerator, replacing the kitchen water filter and cleaning out a very messy, dirty and full Garden Shed. I am thinking about painting it a pretty color! ! ! This photo is from a few years ago but it now looks pretty much the same. Can you see through the lower left window and see the birdhouse sitting on the shelf?
And, I now have a Home Security System which I did not expect to have. And, a New Television that replaced a 2004 Sony. The Sony was very good but the new one (Samsung 40 inch) is fabulous. One thing lead to another. But, Oh, so  much new technology to get familiar with. I'll tell you all about how this came to happen in another post.

Hope your summer is going well.

HOT HOT HOT, DON'T GO OUT

It is after 7 PM and the temperature out my front door is over 100 degrees! After a week of temperatures increasing each day to heights above 100 degrees I am looking forward to this coming week as the forecasted weather is expected to be cooler. And, I sure hope so. It is not so bad when it cools off at night time but last night it was still near 90 degrees at 10 PM.

I am so fortunate to be in safe temperatures with my A/C (which I use conservatively) and my little box fans. It is such a concern for all the people that do not have that fortune. Hopefully, they are able to find "cool spots" in order to be safe! I know there are many parts of the states that are experiencing high summer heat and it can be so difficult for so many different reasons. Let's remember all of them with prayers for comfort and safety.

My laptop computer is still unwell!  I look forward to getting it back!

You know, some days it can be just "too hot to think" so I think that's all there is for now. Thanks for your recent comments.

Blessings,

Mary

Computer Hysteria- Danger

I'll be away so I can send my Laptop out to a  ?-professional-? to get me up and running again. I may have trashed the whole thing. I hope not. I am using an old desktop with windows XP for this. Not good. Hopefully, I'll be back soon and able to load photos, also.

Happy - happy to everyone!
